Rengat, Riau (Antarariau.com) - Rock climber Feri Febrianto (18) from Indragiri Hulu district, Riau province, will represent Indonesia at the Asian Youth Championship in Singapore.
"Feri will compete in the junior men's category along with 15 other rock climbers from other parts of Indonesia," head of sports of the district s sports and tourism service, Rima, said here on Friday.
He is the only athlete from the province who has successfully met the criteria for being the country's representative, she stated.
Feri won the champion title at the national championship in Bangka-Belitung province last year.
"He was ranked first in the junior category," she added.
It is hoped Feri will be able to win the title in Singapore later, Rima remarked.
